CIL to install GPS to check coal pilferage-19 December 2011,The Hindu

Seeking to check the pilferage of coal during transportation to various parts of the country, state-run Coal India Limited (CIL) has decided to install Global Positioning System (GPS) in all its trucks to keep a close vigil on their movement from early next year.
The company proposes to put the system in place in a phased manner starting early next month. The Maharatna company has 81 mining areas and produces around 81.1 percent of India’s overall coal production. According to experts the implementation of GPS will help in checking pilferage of coal during its movement from mine to the point of loading.

Dharini Mishra on making green lucrative- 09 December 2011,Exchange 4 Media.com

December 9, 2011 by Climate portal editor Leave a Comment

Dharini Mishra, Global Head of Brand, Suzlon Group highlights the seven new rules of survival for green brands and their marketers.
Be real: We live and work in the real world. Why then should our brand premises be based in Utopia? We seek answers to challenges that exist and work in our current environment. If the premise is improbable and the promise fantastical, it will fall flat when tested in the real world. Our basic touchstone for Pure Air Lovers Society (PALS) was to accept the constraints of today’s times and define the needs of the consumers in the larger context and then fit your green proposition within it. It might be improbable to expect everyone to completely negate their paper usage till the basic structure of our socio-economic world changed. However, what would work is to offer options of eco-friendly paper, help recycle the same and promote practical yet judicious ways of reducing paper usage.

Between contemplation and climate

Whether or not the USA, Europe, the Western world, the industrialised Eastern world (China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan), adhere to or not their paltry promises about being more responsible concerning the factors that lead to climate change, is of very little concern to us. We have never set any store by international agreements on climate […]

We find objectionable the report by ‘The Hindu’ daily newspaper accusing the India Meteorological Department of scientific shortcoming (‘IMD gets its August forecast wrong’, 1 September 2016). The report claims that the IMD in June 2016 had forecast that rains for August would be more than usual but that the recorded rain was less than […]
