In the first-of-its-kind public-private partnership, the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad’s (IIMA) Centre for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE) has joined hands with Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), BP (earlier known as British Petroleum) and Technology Development Board (TDB) to launch the Indian Fund for Sustainable Energy (INFUSE).

PATNA: In a first, the Bihar Renewable Energy Development Agency (BREDA) in collaboration with the Centre has conducted energy audit of the state capital`s major 14 government buildings to make an assessment of the amount of energy consumed. It is aimed to initiate a process to minimize the wastage of energy in government buildings.

MoEF justifies withdrawal of clearance to OMC project -21 Aug 2011, The Hindu

The Ministry of Environment and Forests has justified in the Supreme Court its decision to withdraw environmental clearance granted to the Orissa Mining Corporation (OMC) for a bauxite mining project in Orissa.The court had on August 1 issued notice to the Centre on an application from OMC challenging the July 11 order. The OMC said the order was illegal, arbitrary and in violation of the court’s earlier directions that gave a green signal to the project.
