KOLKATA: India receives nearly 600TW of solar energy over its land every year. Even if the country were to tap a tenth of this, it would be the end of power woes, believes Graham R Fleming, VC for Research, University of California, Berkeley, USA.
NEW DELHI: India has advanced the target date for selling solar power at the same rate as conventional electricity by five years to 2017 as tariffs have fallen significantly in the latest projects on offer and the trend is likely to continue, government officials said.
