This has been an erratic winter for Mumbai, with minimum temperatures fluctuating by about four degrees every two to four days. There has also been a great difference between day and night temperatures on most days.

Climate opportunities – Fellowships and writing workshops for climate change researchers from South Asia – 23 January 2012
Applications are invited by climate change researchers from South Asia to apply to participate in a new fellowship programme and a residential writing workshop to be organized in South Asia in 2012.
Through fellowships and residential writing workshops, South Asian scientists and social scientists will be trained and supported to:
- Publish in peer reviewed journals
- Write for different types of publication aimed at a range of audiences
- Increase their influence on policy
- Raise the profile of their research through the media
Applications are open to researchers from Afghanistan, India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Pakistan who are working on any aspect of climate change research. Participants should be early/mid career researchers, although more established researchers may be considered. Moreover, 80 researchers will be selected to participate in fellowships and writing workshops. Moreover, 20 fellowships will be offered, and 15 participants will be selected for each of four writing workshops.
